magic man, now u see me now you dont!

Life has really been in the fast lane, it just seems like yesterday I was going to doctor appointments trying to figure out why it hurt to walk and ride. A year has passed and so many cool things have happened. Life really just fly’s by. I recommend sitting back take 5mins and looking at what you are doing. Too many people are doing things they don’t enjoy, if your one of them, its time for some “YOU TIME.” I got his sent to me, talk about hitting the nail on the head!

Genuine satisfaction

A quality life is about much more than merely accumulating a lot of stuff. A quality life is about much more than impressing others with how clever or fashionable you are. Real fulfillment comes from making a positive difference in the world. A life of richness comes from focusing not on how much you can grab, but on the original, valuable and lasting things you can create. When you choose to compromise your most deeply held values, anything you gain by doing so will be of no real use to you. If you must betray the unique person you are in order to feed your appetite for fleeting pleasures, you have dealt yourself a tragic loss. On the surface, virtue and restraint may seem to be dry, boring and old fashioned. Yet they can bring a depth of richness to life that cannot be attain in any other way. The joy of opening gifts on Christmas morning becomes a meaningless chore if you've been immediately satisfying every whim all year long. The delight of enjoying a gourmet meal loses all its appeal if you've spent the day grabbing snacks every time you're slightly hungry. Be careful not to invest your precious life in things that disappear the moment they're consumed. Focus on what you can give, and express, and create, and you'll experience genuine satisfaction that never runs out.

Cheers

best speeech ever!

I don't know what to say really.Three minutesto the biggest battle of our professional livesall comes down to today.Eitherwe healas a teamor we are going to crumble.Inch by inchplay by playtill we're finished. We are in hell right now, gentlemenbelieve meandwe can stay hereand get the shit kicked out of usorwe can fight our wayback into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch, at a time. Now I can't do it for you.I'm too old.I look around and I see these young facesand I thinkI meanI made every wrong choice a middle age man could make.I uh....I pissed away all my moneybelieve it or not.I chased offanyone who has ever loved me.And lately,I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know when you get old in lifethings get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But,you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. So is football.Because in either gamelife or footballthe margin for error is so small.I meanone half step too late or to earlyyou don't quite make it.One half second too slow or too fastand you don't quite catch it.The inches we need are everywhere around us.They are in ever break of the gameevery minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inchOn this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around usto pieces for that inch.We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch.Cause we knowwhen we add up all those inchesthat's going to make the fucking differencebetween WINNING and LOSINGbetween LIVING and DYING.I'll tell you thisin any fightit is the guy who is willing to diewho is going to win that inch. And I knowif I am going to have any life anymoreit is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inchbecause that is what LIVING is.The six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it.You gotta look at the guy next to you.Look into his eyes. Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you.You are going to see a guywho will sacrifice himself for this teambecause he knows when it comes down to it,you are gonna do the same thing for him. That's a team, gentlemenand either we heal now, as a team,or we will die as individuals. That's football guys. That's all it is.Now, whattaya gonna do?

Canada Cup #3...

Dry and fast is usually a term that you would not describe Mount Tremblant! This year seemed to bring new conditions to an old course, a very nice change! The trip started on Thursday with the 7hr drive in the team bus. The drive was pretty relaxing, napping, eating and stretching, the luxury of traveling in a motor home. There was one moment of excitement during the drive! I defeated Derek in a passionate game of Crazy 8’s Countdown. For you that don’t know Derek he is undefeated in Crazy 8’s…. till know! (Karma would swing his way in the end) We got to the venue around 8pm Thursday night, not enough time to check out the course but enough time to set up camp and hit the pillow for some ZZZZZ’s! Day 2 was hot, hot, and hot, the heat was intense. It seemed like the second you poured water down your mouth it was coming out all over your body. Pretty much Derek, Haydn, Chris, Cory and I were the fun boys just chilling in our shorts! We assembled a big group for pre-riding Friday afternoon and hit the trails. The course was identical to the 2006 Canada Cup, the only change was fast and dry. We were all excited about the course and all had a good feeling about Saturday. Friday night was nothing special pasta dinner, early bed time, stretching etc… Saturday a.k.a race day. First I will say Derek and Amanda rippppppppppppppped it up winning the Pro Men’s race and Pro Women’s race…. Wicked sweet!!!!!! I had an amazing race as well. I placed 23rd out of 79. The best part of the whole thing was I started in last position… My whole race consisted of passing people. Pretty much I banked on people blowing up and hoping to catch and pass as many of them as possible and it worked. All around it was a great weekend for the whole team!
Stage 2- The after party…. One word… D.A.N.C.E….

Later…
