rocky, die or do something!

My 3^rd race in Europe and my 2nd race in 2 days…. Hopefully was going to be my turning point of racing here. After having a bad race in my eyes I came to the conclusion it wasn’t that bad of day at the office. I was judging too much of the race on a number position when I really should have looked at the general performance. After analyzing the day… I.E. warm-up, pre-race things, race and cool down, it was a great day! So for this log I decided to describe the race like a hockey game, most of the people reading this are Canadian. Bear with me but let’s see how it goes.

The bus arrived at the rink, you know we unloaded the equipment and started our pre skate ritual. Tara was first on the ice, testing out her skates making sure her shots were on. I took a bit longer to get ready; I had a few things I had to do. Tara asked for my help with some technique so I gave her some pointers and we just continued on! Tara had a good game she played hard dug deep when she needed to. Her offence was firing but the “D” kept on collapsing, it may have cost her a point but she did come out of the game with some solid points. My game on the other hand was patchy, I kept over skating the puck, it cost me a few turnovers that the other team turned in to prime scoring chances, in which they capitalized! I had my head down going threw the center and got caught with an elbow; it rang my bell but also woke me up. The other team may have one the game but I won the third period. Now if I just put in a solid 60min effort with 3 strong periods I will come out with the win.

For anyone that doesn’t get it, I got 30^th. The first half of the race was not up to par but the last half I had a good engine!
